Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education, was established in the year 1960. The College was then known as “Training Institute for Physical Education” and was running C.P.Ed. D.P.Ed. and then H.D.Ed. course. These Courses were run by the Government of Maharashtra. In the year 1983, as a policy matter of the State government, our Institution become affiliated to Nagpur University. Since then, we are running B.P.Ed.(One Year), B.P.E.(3 Years) , M.P.Ed.(2Years) Courses. This Institution was established by the Citizens Education Society which was established by Late Adv. Shri Ishwarbabuji Deshmukh with some mission and vision. He himself was a Sportsman in his days and also freedom fighter. His motto was to serve the nation through medium of education.

Our institution is recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra, permanent affiliated to R.T.M. Nagpur University Nagpur, recognized by the N.C.T.E. accredited B+ by NAAC. and included under section 2 (f) and 12 (B) UGC Act 1956.
